Marinara was unquestionably the most popular sauce and accounted for 20% of all pasta sauce purchases last year.

As for second place, cheesy Alfredo sauce was close behind with 17% of all pasta sauce sales.
Spicy sauces were nowhere to be found on the top ten list.
The team also broke down which cities buy the most and least sauce.
The sauciest state was Iowa, and the city with that title was Kansas City, Missouri.
For example, Southern states tend to prefer alfredo over tomato sauce.
