In it, the company spokesperson claimed they “put an extreme amount of consideration into” the decision.
A ton of cocoa typically costs around $2,500, but in mid-April the price reached $11,000.
It’s unsurprising that this has led to some tough decisions for retailers, suppliers, and producers.
Still, fans are crossing their fingers that Costco brings the Kirkland chocolate chips back.
