A mojito is one of the mostclassic cocktails, especially for a refreshing summertime beverage.

A few fruits that work well with mint are strawberry and watermelon.

Consider adding peach or blueberries if you’re using basil for your mojito.
Choose your rum flavor to complement the fruits you use.
Muddle the Herbs
Use a muddler to gently “bruise” the herbs against the glass.
This will allow their flavorful oils to meld with the other ingredients.
Do this before adding the mint or basil to the glass.
Add Rum and Ice
Fill the glass three-quarters full of ice.
Add rum of your choice and top off with club soda.
Use a sugarcane skewer, swizzle stick, or cocktail spoon to combine.
Garnish the mojito with a few extra sprigs of mint or basil and enjoy.
Cook and stir until the sugar is dissolved, about 4 minutes.
Pour syrup into airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to one month.
